Psychology is a scientific discipline that studies behavior and mental processes using scientific methods. It is a multifaceted field that encompasses numerous subfields, including clinical, social, developmental, cognitive, industrial/organizational, sports, health, forensic, and traffic psychology.
Our academic staff is committed to open communication, collaboration, ethical values, critical thinking, and a scientific mindset. The department is home to highly qualified and well-equipped faculty members who represent various subfields of psychology and have received their education from reputable and well-established universities. With their expertise in both research and applied settings, our faculty aims to contribute to academic knowledge and support societal development through their scholarly and practical work.
One of our core priorities is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of psychological theories, approaches, and practices, while fostering their research, critical thinking, and scientific reasoning skills. The significance of ethical principles in both professional and research contexts is particularly emphasized throughout the educational process.
The duration of our undergraduate Psychology Program is four years (eight semesters), and the language of instruction is 100% English. This allows students to access up-to-date and rich academic resources internationally. In the first two years, students primarily take foundational courses, core area-specific courses, and methodology-related courses such as research and statistics. Beginning in the third year, students are offered a broader range of elective courses, enabling them to deepen their knowledge in areas of personal interest. Additionally, students have the opportunity to conduct various student-led research projects (e.g., TUBITAK-funded) under the supervision of faculty members, thus enhancing their research knowledge and skills.
In addition to the undergraduate program, the department also offers a Master’s Program in Clinical Psychology. Aligned with our research-oriented educational approach, the department hosts a “Psychology Laboratory” and an “Applied Psychology Laboratory” equipped with a one-way mirror room. These facilities support both research and practical training activities.
Our department continues to grow with an innovative and forward-thinking perspective. Considering all these processes, our ultimate goal is to educate individuals who are open to lifelong learning and development, possess a scientific outlook, are committed to ethical values, and are productive members of society.
