Dear students,
I would like to extend my warmest regards to all of you on behalf of the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
The 21st century is an era of rapid and profound transformation. Such dynamic nature of our time period does not only bring challenges but also countless opportunities. Our department is committed to providing all necessary means to our students to develop the skills and knowledge they need to thrive.
Providing a solid intellectual background is a core value. Yet, our educational philosophy goes beyond the mere transfer of knowledge. We aim to cultivate individuals who are able to find their own path by asking their own questions and having the capacity to answer them. On this account, empowering our students with a critical mindset, analytical thinking, and an inter-disciplinary perspective are the core priorities of the Department.
Our curriculum is delivered entirely in English. The opportunity to learn a second foreign language is another significant advantage. Our effective partnership with the Erasmus program are further strengths. However, the international character of our department extends far beyond language proficiency and study-abroad programs.
We are very pleased to have many international students from different parts of the world. Such a composition enables us to provide a diverse class environment, where students learn a lot from each other as well as from their professors.
The distinguished academic staff is a key asset of our department. Our faculty members not only deliver top-quality education but also contribute innovative perspectives to national and global issues through their research, conducted independently or in collaboration with diverse partners across Turkey and the world.
Our partnership with the International Political Science Association (IPSA) to organize the research methods school benefits young researchers from countries as diverse as Canada, the Philippines, Russia, and India.
We are all fully prepared and highly motivated to guide our valued students toward a bright future.
With my best regards,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nermin Aydemir
