TourisTech Demo Day Event Held at Antalya Bilim University

The TourisTech Tourism Technologies Incubation Program, conducted under the coordination of the Antalya Bilim University Faculty of Tourism and supported by the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA), hosted its Demo Day event with the participation of academia, public institutions, investors, and industry representatives. The event, where startups developing technologies for the tourism sector introduced their projects, brought together the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.  
The opening speech of the event was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yazıcı, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism at Antalya Bilim University and the Project Coordinator of TourisTech. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Yazıcı emphasized the importance of technology-based startups in the tourism sector and highlighted that the TourisTech program serves as a significant platform supporting the development of innovative ventures.  
Speaking during the program, the Rector of Antalya Bilim University, Prof. Dr. Semih Ekercin, addressed the role of universities in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem and stated that Antalya Bilim University will continue to support entrepreneurial activities in the field of tourism technologies.  
Intensive Training and Mentorship Process
Within the scope of the TourisTech program, entrepreneurs underwent a comprehensive preparation process. During the program:  
* 47 training sessions were organized.  
* 21 different mentors supported the entrepreneurs.  
* More than 100 hours of training were delivered.  
* Over 75 hours of mentorship were provided.  
While 25 startups were accepted into the program, 12 startups earned the right to make their final presentations following the preliminary evaluation process.  
Startups Presented Their Projects
During Demo Day, startups presented their projects to jury members, investors, and industry representatives. The presenting startups were as follows:  
* Kaira, Seralis, Waymoov, Mentör Kapısı, MAS, Heat Interactive, Discover:Antalya, Makosim, Müze Deneyimi, Sensgate, Sunflow, Bilet and More.  
The presentations showcased digital platforms enhancing tourism experiences, smart tourism solutions, technologies improving visitor experiences, and innovative business models designed for the tourism industry.  
A Strong Jury Panel
The startups' projects were evaluated by a jury composed of experienced professionals in their respective fields. The Demo Day jury members included:  
* Volkan Güler – Secretary General, Western Mediterranean Development Agency (BAKA)  
* Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yazıcı – Dean, Faculty of Tourism, Antalya Bilim University  
* Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahar – Faculty Member at Cappadocia University and Secretary General of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD)  
* Işık Yargın – Chair of the Entrepreneurship Working Group, ANSİAD  
* Çağdaş Kızıl – Project and Business Development Specialist, ATSO Project Development and Government Supports Office  
* Dr. Erkut Baloğlu – Deputy General Manager for Customer Solutions, Aktifbank  
* Sadık Köseoğlu – Director, Şirket Ortağım Angel Investor Network  
* Emrah Kozan – Co-Founder of Pixel Academy and Author of the book "Design Thinking"  
Extensive Mentorship and Academic Support
Throughout the program, entrepreneurs received extensive mentorship support from numerous academics and industry professionals. Mentors included Prof. Dr. Hülya Şimga, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gözdegül Başer, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Caner Ünal, Dr. Demet Ceylan, Dr. Gül Merve Gençer, Dr. Başak Sarıtaş, Dr. Tarkan Düzgünçınar, Ali Haydar Durgun, Bahadır Sansarcı, Burak Akay, Mahmut Dabbıt, and Mert Efe Sevim.  
Strengthening the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in Tourism Technologies
At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the jury members and mentors. Entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to meet with investors and industry representatives to explore potential collaboration opportunities.
