Antalya Bilim University Faculty of Dentistry Hosts 3rd Scientific Meeting and White Coat Ceremony

The III Scientific Meeting – Student Symposium and White Coat Ceremony, organized by the Faculty of Dentistry of Antalya Bilim University, was held with wide participation on 21 November 2025 at the University Conference Hall. Bringing together academics, students, and representatives of the sector, the event served as an important academic platform reflecting the faculty’s vision for scientific development.

The program began with the opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. Following the opening, the event continued with scientific sessions featuring presentations by expert academics in their respective fields.

Prof. Dr. Sibel Yıldırım, in her presentation titled “Understanding Biofilm and Applying It to the Clinic: A Paradigm Shift in Dentistry,” addressed current approaches bridging oral microbiology and clinical practice.

Specialist Dr. Taha Yasin Sarıkaya shared innovative restorative methods in aesthetic dentistry in his presentation entitled “Aesthetic Applications in the Anterior Region with Direct Composite Restorations.”

In the session held after the lunch break, Prof. Dr. Behram Tuncel, Dr. Dt. Hakan Aydın, and Specialist Dr. Dide Tekinarslan provided information on current endodontic application techniques within the scope of the “Rotary Course in Endodontics.”

The White Coat Ceremony, organized in the second part of the event, carried great significance as it symbolized the students’ first step into their professional lives. During the ceremony, Gassan Yücel, Gökhan Yıldırım, President of the Turkish Dental Association (TDB), and Çağlar Yaşa, Vice President of the TDB, each delivered a speech. The speakers emphasized the ethical, scientific, and social responsibilities of the dental profession and wished the students success in their future careers.

Through this comprehensive event, Antalya Bilim University supported scientific exchange and marked the traditional white coat milestone for future dentists. The university administration expressed its gratitude to all participants and stated that such academic events would continue in the coming years.
