Döşemealtı Municipality Hosted ABU Students

Fourth-year students from the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Antalya Bilim University (ABU) made an observation trip to the Döşemealtı Municipal Council meeting to reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical application. This significant event allowed students to directly observe the functioning of local administrations, their decision-making processes, and the dynamics of democratic participation. The students closely followed the debates of the Council members, the decisions made, and the role of citizen representatives, thereby grounding their classroom knowledge in a concrete context.

The educational activity was led by Department’s faculty member Assoc. Prof. Nermin Aydemir Çavuş, accompanied by Research Assistant Mehdi Sosar and Research Assistant M.Enes Kocatepe. Following the Council meeting, the students had the opportunity to evaluate their observations with their academics. Field trips of this nature, organized by the ABU Department of Political Science and International Relations, are part of the experiential learning opportunities offered to students and significantly contribute to developing their professional knowledge and skills before graduation. Our Department is committed to continuing to introduce its students to the practical aspects of local, national, and international politics.
